Number of single table $5+$1 Limit Hi/Lo Omaha tournaments played in the last two days: 5
Number of those tournmants in which I placed 1st: 4
Not sure why it is, but I've been kicking ass and taking names at low limit Omaha, both at money tables (playing Hi) and single table tournies (playing Hi/Lo). It might have something to do with the fact that no where near as many people play, but I'm still doing really well. We'll see if it holds on $10+$1 tables soon...
It's hard to beat hands like this:
This screengrab's from a few days ago, and it's my first Royal. The weirdest thing is that the hand just before this one was a straight flush, queen high.
The worst part was that no one else really had much of a hand, (and anyone with a pair of diamonds had a 9d at the best), so there wasn't much betting. Still, it's neat to finally get one.
Wil Wheaton tells a great poker story - I'm hoping puts all of them into a book at some point. Check out the latest at his website, on a recent online game. I'm not totally surprized he plays $5 single-table tournaments, though I do wonder about celebs, especially those who do play a lot of poker online. I remember watching a small special on Doyle, and how he plays online games. Is he at the $300/$600 tables, or playing smaller limit tournaments to get a taste for how Joe Everyman is playing the game? It'd be very interesting to find this out, as well as the handles the big names use.
