Bees!
Everyone on our Lot just received this e-mail from one of the folks in operations... oh yay. Unfortunately, I have no idea where the "old scenic shop" is...

As often happens this time of year, a swarm of bees has migrated and has come to rest on the old scenic shop. on a light fixture. Quite a sight!
[The head of facilities] has called a beekeeper to come and chill them out - literally. They will then be taken away.
I have walked under them and moved a truck - no problem. The bees will likely rest there all day.
If you are allergic to bees you may want to avoid the area.

It would only be funnier if...
...jozjozjoz had to explain it all to her parents...
so jozjozjoz & her parents were at her grandma's house to visit. her parents were going through some cabinets while joz was in the other room and they were finding all sorts of stuff that had been liberated from their house at one time or another. they found a selection of video tapes, some labeled, some not. mom found one with joz's handwriting on the label. it read, "do it debbie's way."

jozdad: how should i know?
mom: but it's jocelyn's writing, what do you think it is?
dad: it's porn.
mom: WHAT?!!??! [silence as they stare at each other.]
i think joz had heard enough cuz the next thing they knew, joz swept into the room, grabbed the tape and mumbled, "i'll take care of it." as she went out the door.
next thing she did was to call me and go, "you'll never guess what just happened..." she proceeded to relate the whole thing to me and was so horrified she couldn't even face her parents. of course, i couldn't stop laughing. she was just so confused. the writing on the label was hers, but from about 12 years ago. where, as a 13 year old girl, had she gotten hold of porn? and worse, WTF was it doing at her grandmother's?!?!?!?
so of course it came home to live with us. joz wouldn't even talk about it. it just went onto the bookshelf where it stayed for a couple of weeks. she tried to forget it was there, but wouldn't throw it away. hmmm...
then, one morning after joz had left for work, i got up early and was puttering around looking for something to do. spied the tape on the shelf and thought, hell, why not? popped the tape in the vcr and settled onto the couch.
at first there was just that fuzzy tracking (kind of like when we used to try and watch the spice channel by flipping the channels on the remote control really quickly and got these weird half picture/half blur screens) and then it all evened out to what appeared to be a soundstage with 6 foot high lighted letters in the background, spelling out "debbie". the camera pulled back and focused on one person in the middle of the stage, dressed in a leotard, headband and leg warmers. it was none other than debbie reynolds, surrounded by a bunch of skinny women dressed in similar fashion.
this was like no other porn i'd ever seen. i fast forwarded it, thinking perhaps that something exciting would be following, but no, all that flashed onto the screen was the title, "do it debbie's way".
a workout tape. starring debbie reynolds.
joz freaked out over jazzercise.
maybe that is funnier than if it had actually been porn.
and she still has yet to tell her parents that it was debbie reynolds. and that debbie was breathing hard because she was sweatin' to the oldies, not because she was participating in a three-way with teri garr and florence henderson (who, incidentally, both make guest appearances on the tape).

I didn't do it.
Actually, I did.
I just knocked over the white board behind my desk in my office & it came crashing down (loudly) to the floor.
Dry-erase markers of all colors are scattered all over the place. I can't put it back up until I get a hammer, some nails, and my heartrate down to normal.
No more custom white board art for a while, I guess.
For once, I'm NOT tired!
At the expense of all the things I was supposed to take care of last night, I konked out sometime between 9:30-10pm last night... probably a new record for me (not counting when I was sick or something).
Of course, I had been working until 8:30pm last night, and my family called like 5 times around 11pm, but I got to SLEEP! Wheeeeeeee!
And I slept in until almost 7:30am! That's almost TEN WHOLE HOURS!
This is the first time in a month+ that I'm not feeling like I could fall asleep at any given moment.
It's quite a refreshing feeling!

Screw Carmen Sandiego and Matt Lauer... Where in the World is Sharky the Kid?
Sharky just called me and told me that she (yes, SHE) is leaving on a business trip later this week.
So here's the deal, we've decided to play a game with anyone who is interested and YES! THERE WILL BE PRIZES!
We'll be posting hints of Sharky's destinations, hints of where she's staying, etc... and the winner(s) will get something from jozjozjoz.

Welcome Sharky the Kid!
Apologies for not properly welcoming and introducing the newest member of the 'jozjozjoz network™.' I have been overworked, underpaid, and incredibly sleep-deprived. I've spent much of my Sunday recuperating. All I've done today is eat, sleep, nap, and look at blogs.
Luckily, it looks like Sharky the Kid has managed to settle it in quite nicely. So anyway, please welcome *tah-dah!* SHARKY THE KID!
Some things you should know about Sharky:
1) Sharky is not my kid. Don't ask me how old Sharky is. Sharky is not jailbait.
2) Just because 'Sharky the Kid' writes on jawsjawsjaws.com jozjozjoz.com doesn't mean I have a shark theme here... yet.
3) Sharky really is single & quite a catch. You'd be lucky to reel in a date with Sharky. No crabby people allowed. [Hey! Stop throwing tomatoes!] Ok, I'll stop with the shark/fishing puns now. But you DO realize that if you want to go out with with Sharky, you must meet with my approval. Or bribe me.

Welcome to the first day of summer?
Since jozjozjoz will probably be wiped out tonight when she gets home, thought I'd help her out by adding an entry for today. Let me introduce myself, I'm Sharky the Kid - the friend, the neighbor, the single and attractive.... oh wait, that's for another website.
I love the first day of summer, it ranks right up there with Christmas, my birthday and Halloween. Why? It's the one day of the year, where we are "supposed" to have the most light from the sun into the evening. I look forward to those days when I get home and it's still light out for hours. Don't get me wrong, I love Halloween and the bewitching hour, but it just sucks when you leave for work when it's still kinda dark, and you get home when it's dark. Can anyone out there relate?
So I'm totally looking forward to today - it's the weekend, which makes today even greater... and in Los Angeles, where it's sunny all the time - who could ask for anything more? So I wake up all excited and look out my window......
and it's f@#!ing raining! For God sakes, it's the first f@#!ing day of Summer and its f@#!ing raining!
I'm moving to San Diego or somewhere where they have more sunshine.......

2:00 am & home from the office
It's not as bad as it sounds. I went home for a bit to eat dinner (from 7pm to 9pm) and then went to my office until 1:45am.
An improvement over the other night when I worked something like 20 hours straight and I got back at 2:30. Or worse was Sunday night/Monday morning when I got back at 3:30am.
Last night was a big improvement over those other two nights, as well. I was out (working) until 11pm, but got to bed sometime around 1am. Whoo hoo! More than 3 hours of sleep in one night!
Apologies if I'm extra-weird lately. I am completely sleep-deprived... does it show?
Stop sending me obscene pictures!

Out the door at 8:00 am. Drove 50 minutes to get to the office. Lunch at my desk. Will be working until 11:00 pm tonight, if not midnight.
8:00 am meeting tomorrow, so I'll have to be up and out the door early. And will work until 11:00 pm or midnight tomorrow night, too.

After sharing the above gratitude with the office, my boss replied "Also be thankful that sometimes the bags are better than some of the films [in the festival]."
Eric replied with a short novel that included the line:
"...I am ready to start up again for reproduction, as I mentioned before. By July I should be ready to come back to you guys, I might even able to be there a week early."
And I replied:

Things I Just Shouldn't Do...
I should not eat all three candy bars I bought in one sitting.
I should not buy dvds 13 at a time.
I should not surf porn instead of going to the gym.
sigh. oh well. tomorrow's another day. (incidentally, i went to the gym after i finished surfing porn.)
there are, of course, justifications for all three...
i didn't realize that i had already consumed two candy bars (a twix and a reesesticks) while waiting for my car at the carwash. then i figured, fuck it, i worked out today, and i ate the snickers.
i had a $100 gift card for best buy and an itch to buy. 6 of them were under $15.00. i couldn't pare down my shopping basket after i'd put them all in there so i just bought them all. jozjozjoz is kind of upset. so i made a deal, i won't open them so that i can still return them if she finds them online for cheaper than what i paid for them.
it's all yvonne's fault. i was reading about monica bellucci and googled her, and i got this listing. free porn? yeah, baby. spent an hour looking around, then got off my butt and went to the gym. never did find more pics of monica, though.

We had a fairly eventful Saturday (last Saturday, that is...)
The weekend is finally here again! Last weekend went by so quickly because of the Home Show and our busy, busy Saturday.
In a rare cleaning frenzy, I cleaned "my room" (which in reality is just a loft full of my junk). I never clean (just ask Hunny), so it was a big deal. A REALLY big deal. [I am begging for kudos here... throw me a bone!]
Key cool events of the day:
-Hunny's parents visiting
-T visiting
-Making sure there was no 'dog vs. car' situation
-Going to Build-a-Bear at Westside Pavilion
-T bringing dinner from El Pollo Loco and watching Trading Spaces with us.
Not so cool events of the day:
-Moca and Terra attacking Hunny's parents
-Having to drop off my ring @ the jewelers
-Landlord had to go to the police station to file a report for identity theft... credit card stolen... ack!

Can't take my normal route home from work
Every single local station in Los Angeles is currently carrying coverage of this plane that crashed into an apartment building in the Fairfax district.
This is two blocks away from a good friend of mine & right on my route to/from work every day.
I'm hoping there are not too many casualties, the firefighters don't get hurt, & that the damage can be kept at a minimum...
...And that I can miraculously avoid this traffic pita (pain in the ass) on the way home.
I know that just sounded selfish and stuff but even though I blogged about everything else today, I hadn't mentioned that FOR THE SECOND DAY IN THE ROW, Security told someone (same car as yesterday) that it was ok to park in MY SPACE.
I already had a "talk" with the Security dudes, but if come Monday there is another vehicle in my space, I'm going to have open up a can of Joz-Whup-Ass™ on those guys.

What's in a Name?
apparently, jozjozjoz feels usurped (what a strange word to type) and not so keen on everyone calling me hunny. so what should i be called, then? i prefer a moniker that's easier than hunhunhun to type. and although we live in a 'democracy', i don't think voting on what to call me is going to work for me. however, coming soon to a desktop near you, touch screen voting on the next topic of jozjozjoz:: brain barf! will it be the dreaded fishie tank? or perhaps the merits of sidewalk chalk? who knows what wonders jozjozjoz will bring!

Under Pressure
i'm feeling rather like i have something to live up to, now that i've been given such a generous introduction. hmmm...ok, here goes.
first, a thank you to joz for sharing her space with me, i'm not as witty or amusing, tending more towards the sarcastic and yes, even morose, end of the spectrum, but that's where we even each other out, i suppose. i'm mooching off her because it's easier to do than create my own blog, although i do have one out there. it's just not as cool as this one, nor does it plump when you cook it. and i don't know html or any other language (unless you count english, and that is only rudimentary), so this will be my home until such time as a: i learn html or perhaps yiddish; b: i stop having things to say to the general public; or c: ballpark franks get a new slogan.

Good news about the ring...
No, I didn't find the rock, but Hunny says the jewelry store called & said that they'd match and replace the rock for us at no charge.
Sometimes buying retail pays.

Stop laughing.
I don't care that it's uber-lame that we went to a Home Show. It was fun and I don't care who makes fun of me for going to a show whose target demographic finds excitement from buying the latest squeegee invention at a $2 discount.
Hunny and I got 15 minute massages in these great Lomi massage chairs (ok, we got massages at several vendors that sold massages chairs, but the Lomi chairs were by far the best!), laid on Tempurpedic mattresses, shopped for our custom built spa & aquarium, seriously contemplated buying one of those little electric scooters, and I even got some cool shades.
We spent lots of money, but not as much as we COULD have spent, if we had bought the aromatherapy oils ($23/jar), a portable massage unit (not a pocket rocket, you perv, one of those things that sends electrical pulses through your muscles), or Chernobyl hot beef jerky.
Then we had lunch at a Greek restaurant in Belmont Shore, and stopped by two Open Houses before heading to get gas at the nearest Costco.
Belmont Shore is soooo cute, but overpriced & congested. I can't imagine moving somewhere where it's HARDER to find parking.
