Well, what DO you do with your miscarried fetus?

No, that's not some sort of twisted anti-abortion joke...

Authorities: Woman Buries Fetus In Back Yard

Police: Foul Play Not Involved

LA HABRA, Calif. -- The remains of a fetus were found in a the back yard of a Southland home Friday, according to NBC4.

Police went to the home Friday after receiving a call early 2 a.m. from hospital officials,

Officials said that a woman had been admitted to the hospital for a miscarriage she suffered at home. The woman said she had buried the fetus in the back yard, according to NBC4.

Detectives determined the miscarriage was natural.

The woman was reportedly about 4½ months pregnant.

The coroner took the fetus for an initial investigation and a medical examination.

Authorities said that there appears to be no foul play in the case.

But seriously, what do you do if you miscarry a fetus at home?

I wouldn't bury it in the backyard. But do you put it in the garbage? That doesn't seem right either...

I lost a baby at 10 weeks and I took it to the doc with me in a ziplock bag. They checked it out, it was complete and I didn't have to have a D&C. If I hadn't taken it they may have done the procedure (just like and abortion) to make sure I had expelled the whole thing. There is a big difference from 10 weeks and 4 1/2 months tho! I'm currently almost 5 months and I think if I was having ANY signs I'd be at the hospital BEFORE anything could happen. This far along, it's not like the fetus just "falls out". Still, if it was me..and since you asked... I'd probably take it to the hospital (tho I would have called an ambulance) and then arrange for some sort of "proper burial", if you can do that for a fetus...
