Yes,yes--I was wondering how long it would take you to make a joyful reference to the Vitter story. You didn't disappoint me--the response was quick and to the point.

Hypocrisy on the Right is recorded by the Media with great care and speed. Afterall, they are such easy targets. But the fact remains that millions and millions of conservative and religious people conduct their lives in a manner consistent with their professed beliefs. We just don't hear about that. A moral life structure consistent with Judeo-Christian beliefs has done much to benefit our culture and, to the extent that that structure has been deserted, so has our culture been damaged.

Further, it is interesting to me that somehow, hypocrisy NEVER exists for those on the Left. We never read expose stories about, say, Al Gore who professes a belief in human made global warming but yet maintains huge energy eating mansions. We don't hear about "stars" who perform at Green concerts and get there by private jet.

Also evil, we don't hear about not only the Clintons but also almost every Democrat senator who, during the Monica period, joined in calling her either a "slut" or a "nut". Common hateful tactics used by men who are attempting to "defend" themselves--call the complainer either a "slut" or a "nut". Where were all the women's groups who SHOULD have been critical of how the Dems treated Monica for as long as they could. Never heard from them. We seem never to have hypocrisy on the Left--always on the Right. Funny about that.

On a somewhat different tangent--I am beginning to think that ALL of our elected officials are "playing" us--all in an attempt to generate more and more contributions for their personal use.

Enough of this rant.

i agree with john about how there are i'm sure countless conservatives who live very good lives according to their own rules, do good for themselves and those they love, and don't hurt anyone. of course we don't hear about them, cuz that's just boring news. i think there are just as many liberals of the same nature, but likewise are invisible. which makes me believe that a peaceful coexistence is perfectly possible if only the wacky ones on either side would shut their pie whole and let people "live their lives with their children and their wives."

and as for stars and politicians w/ their private jets and mansions eating up our energy while preaching for a newer and greener earth: yes. they're all dumb.
