Comments: Entry number 1000

Surprised you included the "Hate Mail" post as personally I think that is far from your shining moment. That particular post has been the subject of many conversations for me, as it tends to keep me from joining E-mail based message board for fear that someone will take an E-mail, that is private for that board, and post my E-mail and personal information.

Other than that, congrats on hitting the 1000th entry, only 2147 E-mail til your 1000(pi) entry, which will also be very exciting. Will that happen on a Pie day?

There are a few reasons I included it. First, I liked my response. It was one of the first times I did my "quote/response" formats, which I think are very strong. Second, I like pointing out that my entries are making people think, and are driven to respond to what I say.

When Tom Torgerson sent me that email with such "strong" speech (i.e. threats), he shouldn't have been surprized or annoyed that I reposted his email address (in fact, he wasn't - other posters were). Past that, most of the "Research" done on him was based on his name, again, which he freely provided to me. That post was also the reason I posted my disclaimer on the bottom of each page, saying anything you submit are mine to do with as I please.

I allow anonymous posting, and people are free to include as much or as little information in their emails and posts as they please. But they shouldn't be alarmed or annoyed that I publish what they provide to me.

Mike, where is the threat? Was it the fact that he said that he said something to the effect that he should have been fighting people like you instead of for you, that is a weak argument at best for being considered a "threat." Your disclaimer (according to how I read your post went into effect after you received this letter) is for submissions to insignifica. His reply to you was an E-mail and not a submittion to insignifica, where is the line drawn. If a personal E-mail is sent to you do you reserve the right to post it?

I consider the lines "Why don't you and all of your other liberal loser pals get the hell out of this country" and "You make me feel like it is you whom I should have been fighting against", addition to his general tone and insults, to be a threat when taken together. And it doesn't really matter if YOU think it's a threat, I did, and and it's my website.

His letter was sent to me based on a post on Insignifica, and he got my address from insignifica, therefore I'd call it a "submission" to my site (comments are not the only way to submit information to me). I reserve the right to publish anything I want to Insignifica - it's my website.

I think the Sean Combs story is the funniest thing posted here (beef burglar is also very funy). I actually was thinking about your "Sean Puffy Puff Daddy P. Diddy Combs" nickname this past Saturday and spent a few minutes discussing your post with someone.

Congratulations on post number 10^3. Can't wait to celebrate 2^10 next month!
