Wow. I didn't think jury duty could be that accomidating. I think you got lucky. I hope the rest of the process goes as smoothly.

Congratulations. I don't know what the odds of any one person getting all the way to sentencing are, but they have to be miniscule. I too wound up "serving" one day, all the while hopeful that I would actually get to experience a trial. I am ever hopeful that as a juror is the only way I will experience such an event.

I was questioned twice by the prosecutor and the defense. Without explaination, mine was the last name called to be excused "with appreciation". I survived multiple rounds of questions, so I guess I upset the balance they were looking for.

So, I would say your's was a common experience, although I would hope most people choose a better author of fiction to read.

My jury duty experience consisted of waiting all day in a room & playing with my Palm Pilot.
