Ah, Kansas. `Old-fashioned' Kansas state senator says she does not support women's suffrage. Amazing. Normal, logical, smart people must hate the image they give off, between this and evolution.

Question of the day: What

Question of the day: What should my friends and I go out and do this evening? We don't want to:

  • See a film
  • Spend a lot of money
  • Go clubbing
  • Just "hang out"

    All suggestions are welcome.

    Folks,

Sorry I haven't been blogging much lately...work has actually kept me busy during the day and tired at night. I haven't been online much at all except at work, where I can't chat, blog and surf like I can at home. Today is my last day of work, though, as my temp assignment comes to an end. They do like me here - and everyone here is very nice. At the same time, nothing has made me want to start my own small business than working in a corporate atmosphere, wearing a suit every day, and working on an 11th floor. It was fine for 2 weeks, but that's about all I can do. I have another interview on Monday, but I want to scope out the job first, see if I'll like it.

The President has asked that we unite for a common cause. Since the hard line Islamic people can not stand nudity, and consider it a sin to see a naked woman that is not their wife, tonight at 7:00 all women should run out of their house naked to help weed out the terrorists. The United States appreciates your efforts, and applauds you. God Bless America.

I believe my site is being attacked, I keep getting my logs full of quick requests for non-existant files from the same hosts. The site was slow last week, seems to be picking up.

    I'm Exhausted.

Today was my second day of work. Work itself isn't bad - I'm editing and formatting, using a computer, in a fairly laid back office with very nice people. As I stated previously, I have to dress up, and I have to bus there most every morning. I'm also not used to "going" to work. I worked at home for the last year, before that I was in college and only working part time, save the summer of 99, when I went work every day. But I could wear whatever I wanted, and I could get there at 9 or 10 a.m., and leave as needed. I've never, before now, worked in a cube farm, with immediate managers and supervisors and a water cooler and been on the 11th floor. My last two jobs were working for startups, before that it was all part-time and college work. I think I can do it, and I'll likely stay, but it's defiantly an adjustment.

    Some short notes, loyal readers:

    Some short notes, loyal readers:

  • I got a job, and no one wins the $100 prize, as I found it myself. I'm doing editing and formatting for a finance company.
  • I've never had a job where I needed to "dress up" - slacks and long sleeve shirts and ties and nice shoes, etc. I'll tell you in a month what I think of it.
  • Some more doves are coming out of the woodwork - I'm very glad about that. I don't have a problem with a commando operation to get those responsible, but I don't want an all out attack. I need to write that letter I've been thinking about...with email, you never know how many might read it.
  • Early bedtimes aren't my favorite, but they'll do for now. nighty night.

  • On March 7 I posted the 7-line 526-byte Perl CSS descrambler. As Chris noted, I'm breaking the law.
  • Who the hell signed me up for Readers Digest?
  • The MTV Video Music Awards went unwatched by me last night. Damn. To think I missed video awards given out by a station that plays very few non-TRL videos.
  • I used Bearshare for the first time yesterday. Top Drawer!

    Some tidbits:

  • I'm still waiting to get my camera back from my uncle, who took it to Hawaii. When it's back, my webcam won't look so...artsy.
  • You know when you fill out a survey or enter a contest, and they say "one person who enters will win $100!". This time, that person was me.
  • I joined a bowling league. I think that's very cool.
  • I really like mustard. I mean, really.

    Since I've been angering people

Since I've been angering people lately, I'll post a general response about God: If God is all powerful (and you're unlikely to find a Christian who doesn't believe that), then God could get rid of evil in the world, could heal the sick, could end all suffering, could bring everyone to heaven to live forever - and God chooses not to. If you want to worship a God that allows evil, that's up to you. But how can you?

It's a good thing it's all make believe anyway, or I'd be fairly depressed about the whole situation.

It seems some people are offended by what I write here.

    I'm sorry you're offended.

This space is my site, my soap box, and my journal. If you don't like what I write here, don't read. None of my opinions are new, nor are they opinions you haven't heard before, either from me or from others. I don't name names except for public figures and friends in a positive light. That won't change. I refuse to bottle up my opinions or keep them privatly for just a few friends - I share my thoughts with the public for many reasons. Again, If you're offended, I'm sorry you feel that way.

    Some random thoughts:

  • It's entirely likely that some people tell so many lies that they really don't exist at all; they're just a lie themselves, and we just haven't learned not to believe in them yet.
  • Going home between a party and a trip to an amusement park to smoke out seems childish to me, akin to those folks who just HAD to go get drunk before the prom. Dumb Dumb Dumb.
  • I'm getting urges to go back to Santa Cruz and just hang around there, take some time in my old hangouts, go to some classes and sit in, see old professors, etc. i suppose it's natural.
  • I'm really liking this note thing, just like I liked it before.
  • I should be posting more pics to this blog. I'll do that soon.
