Mad props to France for

Mad props to France for not extraditing James Kepp, an alleged abortion doctor killer, if the US decides to seek the death penalty. If this guy did kill Dr. Barnett Slepian then he should be tried, but I'm glad France has the balls to say "Punish him, but don't kill him".

I've decided today is going to be a "weird good" day (yes, as opposed to a "werid bad" day). A few little weird things have happened so far today, I'm expecting more. We'll see...

Oh, yeah, who's reading? I know a have a few regular readers. Who are you?

I'm back from Vegas, with no news to report other than I had a great time and have $300 fewer dollars than I left with. Not an expensive vacation, all things considered, and it was less than I was willing to lose. With that, can you help locate the father of this child?

Heh. I love pictures.

I'll be out and about

I'll be out and about for a couple days - I'm going to Las Vegas to celebrate my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. That, and to gamble. And to go to the Star Trek Experience, again. Hell, I don't need a reason to go to Vegas. I'll be back Tuesday evening. Until then, enjoy Jessy's Blog, Ernie's House, and Twenty Questions.

Ok, there's a good amount

Ok, there's a good amount of smut online. I happen to like a lot of it. Some people don't. That's fine too. But a couple of disturbing things - a report on Wired about conservatives freaking out and going after libraries, and this one from Slashdot, about Texas mandating the installation of filtering software on ALL computers sold.

First off, so little timmy sees some boobs at the library. It's not like these computers are in private rooms...people walk by all the time. It's not like you surf the hun from the library.

Second, shouldn't grown ups in Texas be able to install their own filtering software if they want it? Making the retailer provide and install it is just silly. Besides - the main problem with filtering software isn't what it does, it's how - the companies that make such software don't tell users what sites are blocked and what words make the software go goofy. Therefore, it's Censorware.

You gotta have faith...

Magic Spell Fails

A man was shot dead by a fellow villager while testing a magic spell designed to make him bulletproof. 23-year-old Aleobiga Aberima, and around 15 other men from Lambu village, northeast Ghana, asked a jujuman -- their local witchdoctor -- to make them invincible to bullets. After smearing his body with a concoction of herbs every day for two weeks, Aberima volunteered to be shot to check if the spell had worked. Another villager fetched a rifle and shot Aberima who died instantly from a single bullet. Angry Lambu residents seized the jujuman and beat him severely until a village elder rescued him. Tribal clashes are common in Ghana's far north, where people often resort to witchcraft in the hope of becoming invulnerable to bullets, swords and arrows.

Good morning. Heh, well, it's my morning. I got a LOT of hits yesterday - about 15 times more than usual. That makes me very happy.

On a totally unrelated note, is there anywhere online to register to vote (or just change your address)? I've seen some places, but all they let you do is request the forms be mailed.

Yesterday was pi day, today, beware.

Another pi day gem.

Another pi day gem. I didn't write this, I found it last pi day, but it's fitting today. Enjoy!

He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits high. It took a line ofthirty cubits to measure around it. -- 1 Kings 7:23

Friends, I'd like to take a moment or two to discuss with you the biggest whopper in the whole liberal lie of mathematics. The liberals like to tell us that pi is what they call a "transcendental number." This is, of course, shameless liberal jargon that has no meaning whatsoever. They are teaching our children that pi goes on and on forever without repeating itself, and that it is not representable by any polynomial with integer coefficients. This, my friends, represents only the latest in a long string of liberal lies meant to undermine God and his Creation.

The true value of pi is exactly three, as evidence by the Scripture quote above. It is universally agreed by all honest mathematicians that there is no evidence for a transcendental pi. Not one iota. Friends, you and I know that the Bible is the wholly inerrant word of God, and that the liberals are barking up the wrong tree. That doesn't stop them from spreading their socialist "transcendental number" propaganda. See, the liberals like stuff like this. They like anything that makes mankind think of itself as small and insignificant. This makes it easier for them to control the minds of our children. After all, why not listen to some liberal, if you are not capable of fully representing a single number?

This is an out-and-out lie.

The whole mathematical system has been invented by communists so that they can gain a foothold in decent society. Along with this comes the damnable "Metric" system, which was invented in the socialist Mecca of Europe. The liberals want us all to use this "Metric" system. They want to force us into conformity so that they can run our lives. They tried it once in the 1970s .. remember, that, friends? They put up all of those speed limit signs with metric measurements on them (kilowatt-hours? hectares? who knows!) Of course, God's good Christians responded warmly by shooting them down. Therefore, I am glad to report that the Metric system has not caught on in decent society, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.

Really, friends, the only unit of measure that we need is the cubit. This is a Biblical, Godly unit of measure that can be used for everything that the socialist Metric system is supposed to be used for. You can say "The Johnson baby was one tenth of a cubit long" or "It is 78.8 quintillion cubits to Alpha Centauri" (though the latter is a lie, of course; the stars are simply fixed points on a celestial sphere that lies somewhere beyond our planet Earth, which is the center of the Universe.) My swimming pool holds forty cubic cubits of water.

So let's fight the fight, friends. Let's fight transcendental numbers. Let's fight the Metric system. Let's wage a war against the liberals that intend to enslave our minds through obfuscated mathematics and anti-God systems of measurement. Write your congressman and school board and insist that they use books that teach that pi == 3 and transcendental numbers don't exist. We can do it, my friends. We can do it if we all stick together.

Oscar Offers Incentive to Keep

Oscar Offers Incentive to Keep Speeches Brief.

Yeah, right. My favorite part:

But if you really, really, really have to be long-winded and thank everyone you have ever ... the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (news - web sites) says it will give you room to do so on its Web site.

It was greeted with a long silence from a crowd of more than 100 nominees, including the likes of Russell Crowe (''Gladiator''), Tom Hanks (''Cast Away'') and Joan Allen (''The Contender''), and then laughter.

Who cares if the Oscars are long? Either you watch and you like it, or you don't watch, and don't care.

Sony is dumb. They are

Sony is dumb. They are introducing authentication for their future Playstation 2 games, which will have the following problems:

- You can be limited to one console. This means if you want to play at your friend's house, you bring your system, not just your game.
- In order to play some games, you'll have to connect to their server. This will present problems for people without the means or desire (like what if you want to put one in your car)?
- Planned obsolescence? In 5 years, when the playstation 3 or 4 comes out, will Sony say "sorry, buy the new system, we're taking the old authentication servers down". How about in 20 years, when no one cares anymore? Will the servers still be there?

So, in conclusion, Sony is dumb. Thank you.

It's been days since an update. That's because there's nothing that exciting happening, which is great =)

The weather keeps threatening to be sunny, but these weird little things keep happening, taking the sun away and replacing it again with clouds and/or rain. This really needs to stop. I'm in southern California, for Christsakes.

I added a forth computer (fifth, if you could the occasionally connected laptop) to my home network. That makes me happy. This one is going to serve as the interactive house mp3 server. =)

Search engine robots LOVE my site. If you type "lifehouse web page" on google, the offical page, mtv, vh1, one other, then MY site come up. I mentioned them once. The robots see how often the page is updated, and that makes my rankings higher. Amazing.

I'll have some basic page updates soon, my resume (wanna hire me?), some site additions, etc. will all be up before too long. For now visit some nice places:

The Harry Potter trailer's been released. I've been waiting for this movie since I picked up the first book. I looks faithful and awesome and wonderful.

I can hardly justify working today, as it's the first day it hasn't been raining in over a week, and for Southern California, that's crazy. I can just hope the next couple storms are fairly normal, unlike the last one, which I seriously believe to be the result of a new witch somewhere practicing weather control magic.
